Friendster in hindsight

Friendster was interesting for about two days. When I had amassed a nice bunch of friends I asked myself the inevitable question "now what?" The answer I came up with was "I think I'll rearrange the contents of my right-sock drawer next". I guess I can blame my happy marriage for finding Friendster this pointless. The vanity of the whole thing was fun for an extremely short while.

It seems that Andre Torrez's Friendster experience was somewhat similar to mine. I like Andre's wit.

P.S. Here's my Friendster page. (Apparantly only registered Friendster users can view that page. Kinda stupid IMO.)

P.P.S. This post wasn't meant to sound like I was bashing Friendster. Friendster is a delightful waste of time, and a very good idea for a website. It just doesn't seem to do anything for me anymore. No disappointment here - just an observation.

    If your actually dissapointed regarding friendster it's probably because you had to high hopes for the page.

    It's just a database of who are your friends and who are your friends friends. I realy dont think it even works as a dating web. If you want to date your friends friends, host a party.

    Icelanders that want a dating web should use http://www.private.is/ , it works! ;o)

    I think Friendster is a pleasant waste of time. When I have nothing better to do it's fun to browse and see familiar faces and go "ohhh... so they know each other".

    Well friendster is fine for people who are curious about what friends their friends have. It suits Icelanders well, being naturally curious about their neighbours from growing up in a rather small community.

    I mainly use it to find out who is who and who knows who, being a the curious gossip loving person I am.
