...or something very close to it.

Friendster is kinda cool - especially for inhabitants of a small island-nation like Iceland with a population of less than 300 thousand people, where the social network is very dense. However, the practicality of the whole thing, outside the scope of dating, remains to be seen.

It still makes you wonder how extremely valuable that e-mail database must be for direct-marketing firms and spammers. Friendster's privacy policy sounds very safe and nice and one can only hope that they'll not make drastic policy changes somewhere down the line - like eBay and Amazon did a few years ago.

But hey, it's way cool to be able to browse your social network (or a small sub-net of it) on a user-friendly website.

P.S. Note to self: Remeber to create a Friend of a Friend (FOAF) page, publish it, and advocate the FOAF thing to all my friends. When less busy.
