DXF/DWG Export from Adobe Illustrator 8

Written August 5. 2003, at 02:59 GMT.

I'm looking for a way to convert an Adobe Illustrator drawing of my house into some format (DWG or DXF I guess?) digestible by AutoCad. What I'm looking for is some free solution for the Windows version of Illustrator 8.0 because I only need to convert this one drawing and nothing more. A full-featured demo version of a commercial software would do the trick too.

So far Applicraft's CADgate plugin seems like a good choice because it claims to work with my version of Illustrator (8.0) and offers a free demo version that is good for 20 runs.

Also, Kandu Software's DXF Export plugin looks interesting, but you can only download their free demo during US business hours, and they don't say if it has enough of the features from the registered version for my needs.

I'm going to install CADGate and see how it goes...
