Possible Safari "clear:none;" bug with test case
I think I've found a pretty serious CSS rendering bug in Apple's web browser Safari (version 1.0). I've set up a reduced test case on a seperate page and pinged Safari's lead developer, Dave Hyatt, for him to look into the issue.
Further investigation has lead me to believe that Safari ignores the CSS property "clear:none;
" altogether.

The 1.0 release of Safari renders my page worse than the last beta! I think that Apple was rushing to get a shipping version in time for WWDC...
