Word Perhect

Kudos to Peter Merholtz for providing great links!

Tomoko Takahashi is an artist guy and together with programmer Jon Pollard he has made a funny web application - a word processor of sorts - called Word Perhect. (Flash 4 Required)

Takahashi observes how the automation and helpfulness of modern word-processing packages is influencing and slowly standardizing the way we communicate by writing. He "has produced a new and fully functioning online version of these platforms which undermines this dehumanising process".

Takahashi's pesky editor snarls back at you when you click its buttons. The whole experience feels very "retro" and you somehow get the feeling that trapped inside the program there is a pissed off secretary.

Best of all, you can print out your writings. - Lovely.
