Word Perhect
Kudos to Peter Merholtz for providing great links!
Tomoko Takahashi is an artist guy and together with programmer Jon Pollard he has made a funny web application - a word processor of sorts - called Word Perhect. (Flash 4 Required)
Takahashi observes how the automation and helpfulness of modern word-processing packages is influencing and slowly standardizing the way we communicate by writing. He "has produced a new and fully functioning online version of these platforms which undermines this dehumanising process"
.
Takahashi's pesky editor snarls back at you when you click its buttons. The whole experience feels very "retro" and you somehow get the feeling that trapped inside the program there is a pissed off secretary.
Best of all, you can print out your writings. - Lovely.
