At 02:00: Random Link of the Day
For an untold reason I typed in the URL http://osi.org. Needless to say what I got was not what I was looking for. Nonetheless, the unexpected results just made my day.
Everything about this site makes complete inverse-negative sense to me. (I'm not sure what I mean by this either.) The Layout and graphic-design, combined wih the somewhat ghastly subject matter, the excited marketing slogans and mission statements made this into an almost surreal experience. Even the Name of the organization is brilliant!
Most likely it was the stark contrast between that I expected and what I got that make me love it so much.
(Nope, I'm not telling what this site is about. You just have to click the link yourself. :-)

At 01:00: Open Source Writings and Translations
This comes from slashdot. The Puffin Group (software, and consulting) recently announced its full sponsorship of the Open Source Writers Group in the form of technical and (some) financial support.
While reading OSWG's page, I found out that there's a brand new content licence being created. It's called Open Publication Licence and it's creation is a joint venture of several profit and non-profit entities. Here's the press release for it.
Wired has the article Expanding the Universe of Ideas which tells of the Open Publication License.
I think this is all really cool, especially since the current draft of the OPL seems to be headed off into a reasonable direction.
...hmmm... Come to think of it, I tend to think everything that has to do with free intellectual works is cool.
