Mankind's message to the stars contains math errors

Written May 28. 1999, at 01:00 GMT.

I got this link on the Politech mailing list the other day. It's a story on BBC news telling of how two respectible(?) scientists made two seperate mistakes, while constructing an "official" scientific cosmic message, containing 23 pages of information about the Earth, mathematics, and physics. The errors were discovered after the message had been sent.

The sender of the link concluded his message with the following wonderful remark: "...I expect that earth will soon get a message to "abuse@earth.planet". "Why are you Lamerz Spaming my BOkS?"
